Nothing says 'festival' like covering yourself in a landslide of glitter.
But traditional varieties are literally tiny bits of plastic, which can easily end up in the food chain. (Tiny fish eat the plastic that gets washed into the oceans, big fish eat them and we eat the big fish. Not good.)
But a new, biodegradable glitter company is here to keep you sparkling like you were born to. Wild Glitter is the work of Shropshire-based Olivia Moon, who wanted to create an environmental alternative for wedding and festival season.
Being fully biodegradable in seawater and soil, you can go full attempted unicorn with no worries about where all the remains are going. If you love glitter a little too much, you can get personalised pots for parties.
Olivia says: "Watching a weekend's worth of glitter wash down the plug hole after a festival, I suddenly realised that my glitter use was undoing all the good work I was doing avoiding microbeads, recycling and litter picking at beaches. Wild Glitter offers an ethical, eco-friendly, animal-friendly way to sparkle. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, and I have worked hard to ensure everything about Wild Glitter is as low-impact as possible for our planet."
Go forth and shimmer, guys.
